Riviera Restaurant has been a wonderful place for our meals during our stay in Dominican Republic. The food is delicious, perfectly made and there are so many choices. Moreover, the people are friendly and super attentive. My wife and I came back to DR and are particularly fond of this establishment. Ramon is one of the best in service and hospitality! His work ethic is of the highest order! A true gem! God bless him and his family!

We celebrated our wedding at the Melia Caribe Beach alongside 30 of our closest friends and family and the overall experience as guests of the resort was unfortunately mediocre… the majority of the staff are, to put it in simple words, rude and NOT happy to be there. The food is okay at the buffet, however the à la carte restaurants food is mediocre and service is extremely slow. If you’re planning to make a reservation for one of them, say goodbye to the rest of your night because by the time you leave the restaurant the other activities will be over. Different people in our group had issues with their rooms; from water leakages, to bugs INSIDE the bed covers, roaches walking around, and basic amenities like the safes not working. However, we got to bring our whole group at the Riviera restaurant (part of the Level section) for one last dinner before we left and this experience is the reason why I’m giving 3 stars instead of 1. It’s unfortunate because if I could rate the Riviera restaurant only I would be more than happy to give it 5 stars… the quality of the food was superb, but even more so the warmth and friendly approach of the staff (specifically Carolay, Leones and Victor). Management better take good care of them so they don’t leave, as without them the whole resort would be a huge waste of guests’ money. Special shoutout as well to Patricia (cleaning staff in our building #50)… she did an amazing job but most importantly and appreciated, she would always greet us with a nice smile and friendly attitude. And last but not least, a HUGE thank you to Stephanie, our wedding coordinator, who helped me plan our dream wedding seamlessly from far away and executed our every wish and request impeccably… MUCHAS GRACIAS!

They ran over my friend’s toe with a golf cart. THE SERVICE IS TERRIBLE! You half to walk a lot to get from your room to the restaurants. Unless you have the money to tip everyone you see, they will drive by you and leave you to walk by yourself. After staying there for 2 days, my toe got a blister. (I am young and healthy.) They have no wheelchairs for you if you need it. The servers aren’t friendly and many people throughout the resort are inattentive. Only a few were kind. I was disappointed that they didn’t have natural fruit smoothies or juices. Only in breakfast and it was very limited. Food is okay 4/5. Friends said alcohol is not good. The first room they gave us was dirty, and in the second room they moved us to the lights weren’t working. In order to get to crystal clear waters we paid a snorkeling company where they took us on a boat. The resort itself is nice, but not wowing. If you have kids, the kids water park is a definite highlight, very enjoyable. Overall, NOT WORTH IT!
