Menara Bahtera Hotel

Pretty much what you would expect for a motel. Restaurant is decent: nothing special. Swimming pool is fine. Location is great. Nice bathrooms with hot water baths. First floor lounge is smoker friendly. Non smoker rooms smell a bit of smoke. Next door, there's a convenience store and bar ; lots of shopping and food nearby on foot. I felt like it was worth the price. Friendly staff.

The room is cozy and quiet. The wifi speed is awful. The airconditioning is fair with a little bit noise. The breakfast menu is quite simple. Main course: Tumis kacang panjang, nasi putih, nasi goreng, opor ayam, bihun goreng, telur bacem, chicken porridge, soto ayam, and omelete booth. Plain bread with toaster, peanut, chocolate and pineapple jam. Unfortunately no slice cheese available. Drinks: coffe, tea (no low calory sugar available), lemon water, and a green juice which i don't know exactly what it is. Dessert: fruit salad and sliced watermelon Pastry: none I don't know exactly how are the standard of 4 star hotel, but some how, the breakfast menu of a no star hotel d'prima is almost the same. D'prima serve pastry and puddings as dessert. Please dont expect too much. There were only 4 staffs handling the restaurant, they have done the best as they could.

Just for a few days transit stay in this hotel is still okay. Das hotel location is still acceptable, just about 5~7 minutes. Anyone is able to walk over to Plaza Balikpapan. There's no so-called 24hrs room service or Chinese restaurant in this hotel. Das Hotel only serves morning breakfast. Don't expect to have a really hot water shower in your room. Und during my 3 days stay in das hotel, both das guests lift are out of order. But it's seems to be out of order already for quite some time, I didn't see any workers repairing it. Only left das staff lift to use.
