Merchants Manor

Our stay at Merchants Manor Hotel & Spa was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding, every staff member we met was welcoming, helpful, and genuinely friendly. They even suggested wonderful places for us to visit in Cornwall, which was such a nice touch as we were visiting from London. One thing that really impressed me was their care and attention. I had accidentally left something behind at the hotel, and we were already on our way back to London when they called to let me know. To my surprise, the very next day it arrived at my address, perfectly packed and in great condition such thoughtful service. Our bedroom was cosy and the bed incredibly comfortable, making it easy to relax. The pool area was lovely, and breakfast was a highlight especially the freshly baked pastries, which were absolutely delicious. Upon check-out, we were even given a small goodie bag, which was such a sweet gesture. The whole experience was amazing from start to finish, and I will definitely be going back.

Our Sunday sleepover was everything we could have possibly hoped for. On arrival the management and staff ensured we settled into our truly wonderful room. From the impressive bathroom with its free standing roll top bath, very spacious bedroom area and lovely relaxing window seating, which offered magnificent sea views. We took full advantage of the hotel facilities and enjoyed a swim and steam on Sunday and again Monday prior to departing. The pool is an impressive size and along with the changing rooms are immaculately clean. Our evening meal on Sunday was not just a roast, it was a very tasty and well presented dinner. The cauliflower cheese being of particular high quality, to which we gratefully accepted the offer of seconds!!!. Breakfast followed the same high standard of presentation and quality, with everything one would expect and more. Overall a truly relaxing experience in a wonderful hotel, serviced by a team of dedicated staff.

It could have been so much better. The breakfast wasn't great. The staff where lovely and very helpful. The hotel was a big run down with general maintenance not you do high standards. Wallpaper peeling etc. Hot tubs in garden not working. Jacuzzi not working etc. Would love to go back but let's see.
