Mercure Aberdeen Caledonian Hotel

TL;DR I recommend the place. Great spot to see the city and especially the neighbour park (vis a vis the hotel). The parking is well located, please remember that the parking payment is required at departure (NOT arrival). The hotel was a great stop before driving further to Highlands. There are a lot of great spots to see between Edinburgh and Aberdeen, like Dunnottar castle.

We enjoyed our stay, good atmosphere, the floor in our room had a slope to it, but understandable with the age of the hotel. All of the staff were very helpful and so friendly. The hotel is right in the city and was easy to walk where we needed to go. We had a delicious dinner and breakfast with many options. Our room was quiet and comfortable, would stay again.

The hotel made a good base for a city break and our package included breakfast and dinner on the first night. It was good value. On arrival we had a warm and friendly welcome and during our stay staff were friendly and helpful. Our 4th floor room had great views over Union Terrace gardens and across the city. There was a comfy seating area, fridge with water and good wi-fi. The shower pressure was good and the overall the room was well maintained. I wasn't the biggest fan of the bed and would like more shower products in the bathroom. We had a great dinner in the hotel and I was pleased with the food quality. The breakfast had a wide selection and again the quality was good. The dining space was pleasant but could do with a refresh. We were happy with our stay and feel it is a shame the hotel is being sold.
