We were greeted and made very welcome by the receptionists. Our suite was amazing(not used to suites). Breakfast was extensive and very good. Dinner was exceptional. Unfortunately both were spoiled by staff who made us feel in their way. However, the hotel had amazing views and ideally situated to see the old part of the city .
An excellent hotel in the middle of town. Very pleasant staff and clean comfortable rooms. Good underground private parking. The hotel and parking were a bit pricey.
The location can’t be beat, in the old town, right across the road from Les Halles and the lively restaurant district, steps from the impressive Hotel de Ville and cathedral. The front desk staff was wonderful and it was great to have underground, enclosed parking on site. The bed was comfortable enough and I appreciated the extra pillows available. We had a Superior room which was large and spacious with an everything you need, including a desk and small sofa. And we had a nice view from large windows onto the garden courtyard. However, the bathroom was very dated with a shower over a tub and no heated towel rail or any towel bars. There were only hooks, two of which were inside the shower so not very practical. Also the toilet was at the opposite end of the room. Which was fine except that there was no sink there. So you have to walk all the way across to wash your hands after using the toilet when there was plenty of room for a small sink. The room furnishings and decor were nice but everything is looking worn. And the housekeeping was really poor! When we arrived there was dust around, on the floor and especially bad in the closet where my pants bottoms got dirty when hung up. The daily cleaning was also mediocre and a lot of things, especially water glasses, were not replaced. The breakfast buffet was okay, tho average, and the pastries sometimes stale (we stayed 4 nights). There was rarely any staff at breakfast so if you have trouble with the coffee machine, for instance, there is no one around to help. Overall an average stay and I expect better at a Mercure.
