I had a wonderful cosy and comfortable stay for my recent business trip coupled with leisure in between. Very friendly staff. Comfortable and clean room with gorgeous views . Floor 14 was very quite . Will definitely stay again. Within 2 minutes walk to our offices and 10min walk to Central station if you have luggage. Maybe less if you walk fast. Queen St literally across the road . Perfect location.

When booking our accommodation, I specifically requested—on two separate occasions—that two of the three rooms be inter-leading, as we were travelling with small children. The hotel responded that they would do their best to accommodate this request, subject to availability. However, upon arrival, we were told there was no record of the request, and the front desk staff attempted to place the blame on us, claiming it was because we had booked through a third party. The overall condition of the property was also disappointing, with carpets throughout the hotel appearing dirty and the rooms looking shabby—well below the standard expected from this brand. After some delay, we were eventually placed in inter-leading rooms and assured that all our luggage would be transferred for us. On arrival at the new rooms, however, we discovered that one suitcase was missing. We were initially told that nothing had been left behind, only to find the missing bag still in the original room. To make matters worse, our colleague’s credit card was charged the full amount for the stay instead of just the small holding fee, which would then have been refunded. While the manager who assisted us at checkout on Sunday morning was very helpful and made every effort to rectify the situation, the overall experience left us very disappointed. This hotel did not meet the standards we expect from its brand.

Had to update my review to reduce the rating. I woke up to no power in my room - no ability to charge my phone / laptop, no TV, not able to iron my shirt for the days meetings. I get things happen outside everyones control. HOWEVER, they came and did a quick check... couldn't find the problem AND NO solution offered, no apology, NOTHING. So I'm off to my meetings in a crinkled shirt... minimal phone battery and laptop power and without a morning coffee... not a great start to my day! Again, things happen, but zero action to help, I can't accept that. Original review below : Service was great at reception and room service attendant. All very friendly, efficient and smooth. Always great to get good service! On the negative the room was not to the standard of other Mercure hotels - bathroom was particularly very tired. Pizza from room service was really good 👍🏼
