Friendly staff, well located, great breakfast
I was taking my shoes off, in 1st few minutes of entering the room, and had to kill a cockroach! Needless to say, this ruined my stay. I went to the front desk and they moved us from the 7th to the 12th floor. Also, the chairs in the room are outdated and weak. I was nervous to sit on them. The TV is another thing. It was like a small computer monitor! I felt like why even bother to turn it on! When I did they had a digital antenna signal! The Mercure used to be a quality stay in Campinas. Now I'll have to move on to a better quality hotel.
No basic amenities like kettle or coffee maker or iron board. If you need hot water, you need to go to Ibis hotel behind to get it. Most of the times the hot water machine would be broken and you need to wait for a receptionist to come help you which takes another 15-20 mins of wait. The lightings in the room are very dull and low. You will not be able to take early morning meetings as you would be taking them under a table lamp. When asked in the reception, they ask you to pay even more money and upgrade. For basic amenities why should anyone upgrade? Is providing proper lighting and kettle not basic need? This was a corporate booking and this is how you get treated, not sure about individual or personal booking? The only good thing is free breakfast in the morning which is decent. Overall 2 star is only because of breakfast and polite staff in the food court.
