I have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions (business & pleasure). The location is ideal to reach when visiting from Cornwall & other counties. So easy to do a short walk to the beautiful city of Exeter via Georgian architecture or a quiet pathway. The Old Quay is a must if you wish to get off the beaten track. Taxi's are very prompt & the reception team are willing to assist. In fact you could not wish for a better friendly, courteous, obliging team! This is an unpretentious hotel so do not expect 5 star luxury however the ambience is amazing. The beds are super comfy. The spa is small a bit tired in areas but fab & if you can make it in the quieter hrs all the better. Thank you to all, re night porter, concierge, bar staff, waiters, reception etc. I will be back.

Amazing hotel, close to the city centre. Really good rooms with a pool, great buffet breakfast and nice bar with room service. Very reasonably priced for the quality of service. Can park on site. Nothing too much trouble for the hard working professional staff, including mixing a fabulous Negroni! Already looking to return with my niece for a girly Christmas break. Would recommend for a break in Exeter, cosy, comfortable, up market, great facilities, historic building, great pool and good food and drink.

Situated five minutes' walk from the Quay, the hotel is in a good location to explore the city, with the bonus of a car park (£15 per night). The hotel felt modern and as though it had been updated fairly recently, although our superior room was a bit dated and some of the furniture and fittings were a bit shabby. Service was friendly, helpul and efficient and we were moved to a different room when our original one was unsuitable (but was more up to date than our second room). The bar area is pleasant and breakfast was good with hot and cold choices, including for vegetarians. Would definitely stay again if in Exeter.
