Mercure Fribourg Centre Remparts

Very nice hotel. The room was very nice and the bed was comfortable. I had a very good stay and found the staff to be highly professional and helpful. The only downside that I felt was the location to go out for dinner. You do have to walk a bit or take the car. But they also offer food at the hotel, which I did not try. Overall I liked my stay and would come back, if I have some meetings nearby again.

We chose this hotel as our base camp for the trip, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. During our second stay (4 nights + 2 nights), we were delighted to be upgraded from the junior suite to the main suite. While the upgrade was a pleasant surprise, one detail stood out—the shower. The junior suite featured a spacious Italian shower, perfect for a relaxing, intimate experience. In contrast, the main suite, despite its size and luxury, had a small, basic corner shower that felt out of place in an otherwise high-end setting. The breakfast buffet was exceptional—fresh, varied, and catering to all tastes, making for a perfect start to each day. We will be back

We arrived after booking a room for three people, but unfortunately the room was only prepared for two. There was just one poor staff member who had to take care of everything on her own — checking us in at reception, setting up the extra bed, and even preparing the welcome drink. It was clear that she was doing her best, but the organization behind her was seriously lacking. She deserves praise, but the management really needs to reconsider how they run things.
