Mercure Gloucester Bowden Hall Hotel

5* fully recommend. Fantastic chill out hotel dog friendly and excellent customer service. Great quality food had dinner 2 nights and breakfast every morning. Everything is simple and well organised. Set in a beautiful location with amazing grounds, ample parking and easy access to Gloucester and m5. The rooms are charismatic however there is no generic lift so bear this in mind. I was happy to get my steps in and be on the top floor. My room was spacious and had ample amenities. The food is incredible and reasonable priced, great breakfast and dinner choices and staff are more than happy to help. Will come back with the children and dogs

Our room (242) was a bit dated, with a few stains on the carpet and a TV remote that could have used a good clean. However, the staff were friendly, and the breakfast was delicious! The room seemed to be near a top-up tank for water or heating, as we could hear the sound of a large cistern refilling about every half hour. We didn’t mind too much since we had earplugs. Overall, it was a convenient stop to break up our journey from Cornwall, but I’m not sure we’d choose to stay again.
