Mercure Hida Takayama

One of the best stays we’ve had in Japan! The room was incredibly spacious — easily the biggest we’ve seen during our trip! Location is perfect: just 2–3 minutes from Takayama Station and surrounded by great restaurants and convenience stores. The charming old town is a short 10-minute walk away. We also loved the rooftop onsen and stylish lobby — such thoughtful design touches throughout. The entire place was spotless. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Takayama!

We stayed at Mercure Hida Takayama as a large family group of 10 adults and 5 young children, spread across 5 rooms, and we had a very pleasant experience. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, which was perfect for both adults and children. The hotel is also in a great location—very close to Takayama’s old town, making it easy for us to explore the area on foot. We appreciated the warm hospitality, including the welcome drinks provided upon arrival. Although only one of our rooms received a late check-out, it was still a thoughtful gesture that added to our positive experience. Overall, Mercure Hida Takayama offered us a relaxing and convenient stay, and we would gladly recommend it for families or groups visiting Takayama.

Comfortable stay with a great hotel onsen experience everyday. Service from staff is very friendly, location is excellent (a few minutes walk from train station) and free drinks at the bar due to premium room booking are great! Only drawback is the small room size due to an extra bed for 3 persons. Otherwise no issues with my stay at the Mercure Hida Takayama!
