Mercure Hotel Aachen Europaplatz

Have stopped here a number of times. Friendly and efficient check-in/out, good sized rooms with comfortable beds and everything very clean. Restaurant and bar offer good value food and drinks. Not used the outdoor pool however it looks nice and the surrounding garden is well looked after. It's a comfortable walk into Aachen centre with bars, restaurants etc along the way.

Good all round. Friendly, efficient and helpful staff. Rooms clean and comfortable. Well equipped. The mini-bar fridge was a little noisy but we got used to it - otherwise I would have found a way to turn it off! Could not get the AC to work, but it wasn't too hot during our stay so it didn't matter. I emailed before our arrival to ask if the rooms had ironing facilities. I got a very prompt reply explaining they would be happy to provide this. When we arrived it was already in the room - great service. We did not try the bar or the restaurant. Breakfast was of a good quality and plenty of choice.

The hotel is located at a quiet area but there are no restaurants nor supermarkets nearby. It's not far away from CHIO Aachen and you can walk to the bus stop to take the shuttle bus. The hotel room is clean and has everything one needs for a simple stay. You will need to remind the reception if you need daily cleaning. Our AC was broken during our second day and we were able to get a new room quickly. The AC was a bit loud during the night, it's probably because the hotel was old. Overall it was a fine hotel if you are not looking for anything fancy but a quiet place to rest.
