I am not experienced in reviewing hotels, but as far as I my experience go, this is an okay hotel. There is nothing special with the hotel. The room is kinda old but clean and the amenities was pretty limited. The breakfast is also limited. I got close to my destination so this was an okay experience. Definitely not something I will personally order for my own travel.
The rooms are big, clean and comfortable. The bathroom is a good size. Many commerces, restaurants and a U Bahn station very close by. The only criticism is the location. It is far from the main railway station, airport and main tourist sites. If you are not going to be moving about in the Charlottenburg area, you may find the daily travel to tourist destinations long. At the same time without a car, due to the close proximity of the U Bahn station, it compensated.
Everything from the check-in to the end was highly disappointing. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel, and far from Mercure standards. The rooms and pool are not well maintained. The wifi is useless as you have to stand near the door of the room to get connected. The staff was not friendly. Breakfast was not replenished for everyone. The shower area was horrible, and so uncomfortable. Very far from the main city area, though well connected by the underground train.
