Mr. Waqas and Mr. Abhi both are very king and helpful 5 minutes walk from Frankfurt central station Halal food easily available near around Elevator very small. Let me say it’s for one person if having bag. Elevator goest up to 6th floor only Rooms are small but clean. In 2023 room at 7th floor was not good. Area seems to be dangerous but safe because police is always there

I had a very bad check-in experience at Mercure Hotel Frankfurt. I arrived after a long trip, tired and with luggage, but the receptionist was extremely rude. There were two men at the desk — not the darker-skinned one, but the other, lighter-skinned, tall and heavy-set man. He spoke to me in a careless and disrespectful way, making strange mouth movements and sounds. When I asked him to confirm my friend’s reservation (my friend had already checked in), he said things like “I don’t care” and “I won’t call him.” I stayed polite, but he was completely unprofessional. In the end, my friend had to call the front desk to fix the situation. Even when handing me the key, the man didn’t look at me and acted like he was doing me a favor. This was a very disappointing welcome and not what I expected from a hotel like Mercure.

First impression was not great, as the hotel is in a very dodgy area full of drunks, vagrants and drug addicts hanging around menacingly on the street, day and night. That's obviously not the hotel's fault, but it would have been nice to be welcomed by a friendly reception after traipsing through the infamous Frankfurt 'Bahnhofsviertel'. That did not happen. Reception was cold and impersonal, I barely got a hello, but they were very efficient in making sure the payment was made upfront before issuing the key card. They still had the plastic covid protection that most places have done away with long ago, but you get the impression they may have had that even before covid. Fittingly, the room had visibly stained carpets, faint old cigarette stink, was poorly ventilated, and too warm. The non-functional aircon that made it even warmer (no help from the front desk on that despite requesting it - I was told I turned on the heat by mistake). If that were not enough, the water would only come out freezing cold or burning hot, and sporadically, so I could not properly shower and brush my teeth, and had to use bottled water to rinse the soap off of me. Usually Mercure Hotels are pretty decent, but this was one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. To be avoided.
