Once again we have choosen this hotel with a spacious and quiet standard room. The shower is a little tiny, otherwise there is absolutely nothing to complain. We love the extraordinary breakfast with a huge choice of items for everyones taste. The hotel is located directly beside the event hall of Hagen ("Stadthalle Hagen") and the cultural "Elbers" area with restaurants and theater is just around the corner. City center/downtown is just 10 minutes foodwalk away.

I loved this place. There was a veranda to hang out on. Fantastic breakfast. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was muggy hot. Even with fan/ventilator it was still pretty hot. Walking the area, I could envision the pride this area once had. I wanted to help clean the pond with the beautiful statue and help clean up and plant in the garden. Parking lot was easy enough. Great food options around.

We booked two rooms in this 4star hotel for one week, as a family travelling from Ireland, for the Euros2024. We had requested rooms on the same floor, but were provided one room on 2nd floor and one room on 5th floor. All seemed well, until we entered our room & realised there was no airconditioning. This is something that should be highlighted with the facilities, so guests can make an informed choice. It didnt help that we arrived last week of June, when temperatures were above 30 degrees celsius. I did ask at the desk about this, and was told: This is Germany. At no point were we offered a portable fan/cooler. This spoilt our entire stay, as we dreaded returning to the rooms, which were over-heated, despite leaving the window open all day, which invited flies. There were no safes in the room, no drawers, no mini-bar. But plenty of cobwebs. The bed had not been cleaned underneath, with somebodys socks still there. There was no mirror in the room, so every time we wanted to use a mirror, we had to go to the bathroom The buffet breakfast was not too bad. With limited options for vegetarians. I would have liked the scrambled eggs, but they were in the same steamer as the bacon. How difficult is it for a four star hotel to acquire some Dyson Air Cools?
