Mercure Hotel Hamburg City

The hotel is in a reasonably good area, and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The manager, Emily, was great fun, and really made us feel special. Pros- the bed was very comfortable, the container styled wardrobe and fridge were fun & unique. Cons- the room air conditioning wasn’t effective in this heat, with temperatures around 25-28 degrees C. And the lift that was broken made getting access to our floor difficult, as it was always busy.

Poor room, no facilities water tea/coffee etc. Desk was a folding table camping style. Chair from the 1990's very uncomfortable. Friendly staff and good restaurant compensated but won't be back again.

My stay at the Mercure Hamburg City Hotel was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. From the moment I arrived, the service was severely lacking, and multiple issues made my stay frustrating. 1. No Staff at Priority Check-in Points – When I arrived, there was no staff at the designated priority check-in counters. I waited for 5 minutes before another guest cut in line. Shockingly, the staff member who finally appeared ignored the line-cutting and proceeded to assist them first. When I asked why no one was at the priority desk, the response was, "You can come to me" rude and unprofessional. 2. Terrible Wi-Fi Connection – The internet was barely functional, both on my phone and laptop. In today’s world, reliable Wi-Fi is a basic expectation, yet the hotel failed to provide even that. Overall, the lack of professionalism, poor service, and inadequate facilities made this stay extremely disappointing. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone expecting decent hospitality.
