Mercure Hotel Mildura

I have recently stayed at the Mecure in Mildura for an extended period of time. My initial thoughts its very dated and I questioned if I had made the right decesion with my stay. If you want brand new and modern then it is not the hotel for you. But if you want a place with character, a homely feel that's a bit dated then this is the place, ample easy on street parking, a great location, easy walking access to the town. The staff are friendly and many (most) of them go out of their way to remember their guests names /room number. The restaurant staff are amazing and almost predict you needs. That fact that locals do bulk bookings to the restaurant each week shows the quality of food and evidences the amazing service. I'm looking forward to my next few stays with them. I made the right decesion.

Noisy! Fire alarms went off about 3 times during the evening (no fire either). Hallways are noisy so you hear people coming and going throughout the night. So didn’t get good night sleep. The bathroom was basic and dated. Not what I expected from Mercure. Disappointed with the offering given the price.

This hotel is in a great location but the rooms need a deep clean. Surfaces were clean enough but everything else was grotty. There was a thick layer of dust on the bedroom walls, the mesh roller blind in the bathroom was filthy, curtains were too long so were hanging all over the floor & dirty. Even the bathroom heat light had grime smeared all over it. I know it is a heritage building but would expect better minimum standards from Mercure & the Accor brand.
