In general a great hotel to stay for a weekend. Clean room, albeit without A/C. The staff was really friendly, happily answered all our questions, helped immediately when we asked for more tea or coffee for the room. The breakfast and underground parking are quite expensive (€25 p.p. and €19/24hrs) so we decided not to get it and to park outside on the street. Location is really good, about 5 min. walk to the nearest S/U-Bahn station with approx. 20min to the city centre.
I stayed prior to my bus tour, during my tour and after my bus tour. I found that the treatment varied. I know the bus tour rate may have been less, but the customer service should not have been less. I found that the treatment was better when I booked personally. The rooms I booked on my own, were nicer. There was a heat wave, there is no A/C, but I do wish they had fans available to quell the heat a bit. The breakfast hostess came off a bit aggressive as well.
I stayed at this hotel and was surprised to find that they don’t provide even a basic pair of slippers — the simple towel-style ones you’d expect at any decent hotel. When I asked at the reception, I was told my room type doesn’t include them because I was not staying in a “Privileged” room. I find it quite disappointing that such a low-cost item is withheld from guests. It’s a small gesture that makes a big difference in comfort, and I wouldn’t expect this kind of policy from a hotel that claims to offer four-star hospitality.
