We stayed here recently and were very pleased overall. The location is excellent if you're arriving by train or bus, as both stations are very close by. It takes around 15 minutes to walk to the city centre, which was convenient for us. Check-in was smooth, and the staff were friendly and helpful. One thing to note is that early check-in comes with an extra charge, even if the room is already ready. While this seems to be common practice these days, we did find it a bit disappointing. Still, we went ahead with it because we were quite tired from travelling. The room itself was clean and well sized, and the bathroom was also more spacious than expected, which we appreciated. Even though the hotel is near the train station, we were pleasantly surprised that we didn’t hear any noise from outside. It was very quiet throughout our stay, which made it easy to relax. Our room looked out over the bike parking area—not the most scenic view, but understandable given the location. Overall, this hotel is a solid choice for a short stay. It's convenient, comfortable, and well-suited for travellers looking to be close to public transport.
Stayed during a festival, as a driver for a band late at night I had to ask for some specifics to be sorted. Day time receptionist made the switch but didn't communicate it properly. By the time I needed to rest, there was a whole room switch confusion which luckily I was there to sort - but it shouldn't have been on me. Night receptionist was responsive but should've been aware beforehand. Breakfast buffet is glorious: varied and delicious. Staff there are efficient and very empathetic. One of the ladies managing the buffet helped me navigate the stress of the aftermath of the confusion which resulted in my frustration and exhaustion. She asked and supported and eventually I got a resolution. Thank you so much for all your care and help. I was tired still but I felt the service that a 4 star hotel can provide, thanks to you. I would therefore recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Nijmegen. For further improvements: making sure changes are communicated and recorded so anyone at the reception can be clear on what happened.
Very dubious habits. Booked 5 room for 9 people. Then we cancelled 2 people a the breakfast but we paid the same rate. Never ever mercure! The answer from mercure: Dear Mr Stilling, We regret to hear that you are dissatisfied with our services and would like to take this opportunity to provide some clarification. Firstly, please note that no extra payment was made for a privilege room (triple occupancy). We removed the extra fee from your booking. The difference in pricing is due to the type of rate selected at the time of booking. One room was reserved under the flexible rate, which includes breakfast, at a cost of €164.70. The remaining four rooms were booked under the non-flexible rate: €129.89 for single occupancy and €149.68 for double occupancy, also inclusive of breakfast. As both rate types include breakfast as part of the package, it is unfortunately not possible to exclude it. Hope to have informed you well enough. Please do not hesitate to contact us in case of questions or doubts. Met vriendelijke groet | Kind regards, Kim van den Berg Front Office Manager
