Mercure Hôtel Le Touquet

Excellent hotel in a good position staffed by very pleasant and helpful people. The fact that it is new helps but it has been well maintained. The room/bathroom was spotlessly clean, the beds were comfortable, the temperature was perfect and all the equipment functioned correctly. The only thing missing was some milk (so pick some up in the Flexi plus lounge on your way!)

This is a beautiful new hotel, the rooms, bar restaurant and public areas are all very attractive. The service is friendly, the bar service was a little patchy but in the restaurant service and food was good. A great base if you have a car but it is a good 40 min walk to the beach of Le Touquet.

Booked this hotel with two main filters; air conditioning and car parking. The air conditioning was not available- the unit was in the room but could not be used as it was centrally locked. Very disappointing as the hotel facilities state air conditioning in rooms with no restrictions on dates mentioned at all. Why then, was this not available? When arriving on the Sunday the receptionist advised that the restaurant was closed Sunday and Monday. Frustrating after a 7 hour drive as the hotel is out on a limb and so had to drive into Le Touquet for food. Went to the spa to try to book a manicure but no one at desk and could not find any staff around at all to book it despite being within the spa opening hours so after 15 mins of trying to find someone, I gave up! Breakfast was just about adequate. Ran out of scrambled eggs on first day and took 15-20 mins to cook some more! Staff were friendly enough when you found anyone although a bit disinterested!
