Mercure London Paddington

I have now stayed at The Mecure, Paddington 3 times. It's a great location - next door to Paddington station so good for exploring, close to restaurants/takeaways. Drinks in room are complimentary which is a nice touch. The bed is extremely comfortable... Rooms have always been clean and are a good size compared to other places I have stayed. Staff are friendly and polite. Breakfast was really nice - buffet style, with traditional English Breakfast offerings as well as fruit, cold meats, cheeses and pastries.

Very convenient location, nice options in the neighborhood. Within the hotel there was a large amount of hallway noise from both guests and staff coming and going which was very audible inside my room and continued well into the night. The room interior felt quite dated. Overall it was fine for one night on the tail end of a work trip, but I certainly wouldn't book again for a long term stay.

The Hotel is close to the train station which becomes handy but many things are to correct. The room was very stifling and airless and it smelled mouldy even though I did not really see any mould. Pigeons were in front of the window leaving their excrements on the cealing outside. The subway shook the room and the noise level was quite irritating. The room itself was tiny and the bathroom left little space to move or turn around. The price was very high compared to what was delivered.
