This is a good spot for visiting Mont Saint Michele. We arrived in the early afternoon. We headed over the island itself to walk around and explore from about 4-7 (unless you are doing the tour of the Abbey you really don't need much more time than a few hours.) After coming back using the free shuttle we had a late dinner nearby then watched the sunset from the area around the damn. Had a nice breakfast in the morning and then moved on!
The hotel is very good. The location is truly amazing. It's just a very short walk from the dam, which is one of the best spots to view Mont Saint-Michel. The restaurant was also very good. We would book again here without hesitation.
Rooms are okay, but my biggest gripe is that the area for the toilet is tiny. If you're a bigger person, good luck! Also, the doors into the room are tiny. Maybe 24"-27" wide. If you're in a wheelchair, you won't be able to wheel in. There is also about a 1.5"-2" "ledge" when stepping into the room from the common hallway. If you have mobility issues, this can be a tripping hazard. We asked for an extra bedsheet and were told to come get it at the front desk. When checking out at the concierge desk, every time I would put my head down to sign a document or reach for my wallet, the woman helping me would take another guest behind me. I thought this was rude. Location was good here. The bus to Mont St Michel stops right in front of the hotel. There was plenty of parking. One thing that is annoying is that two days before checking into the hotel, we received an email from the hotel saying that there is a code to get the area where the hotel is and we need to "pay to gain access to this area for every 24 hours that you're there." We paid 12 euros but this varies by season. 6 euros during off season. This is in addition to the city tax. They also charge extra for every additional person in the room. The price you see is PER person, per night. There is an additional fee if you aren't alone.
