Mercure Nottingham City Centre Hotel

This hotel has lots of character and is in a perfect location for exploring the city centre. Staff were friendly and helpful. Due to the age of the building, the floorboards are creaky and walls are thin so we could hear some noise from other guests but nothing too bad. The room was quite small but had everything we needed. Shower pressure was amazing. The mattress had a large stain though.

Brilliant stay! Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Quirky hotel as it’s the oldest one in Nottingham and they pride themselves on that. Hotel is full of character. I was very fortunate to be upgraded to a superior suite - fantastic!!! It’s a warm hotel but there is air con so no issues. For those that fear it is noisy there are ear plugs in every room if needed.

We arrived at the hotel on a very hot day, people were sat on the pavement outside and the look of the hotel was a bit shabby. We went to our room through very dark corridors. The room itself was very dark too, we opened the curtains and our view was as in the photos! With lights on every when looked a bit tired and the bathroom had patches of mould around the shower as well as areas of pink bacteria. The air conditioning worked really well and kept us cool over night. We tried to watch tv. A very complicated multi type remote seemed stuck on an adult channel we did not want to watch though couldn’t change! We did have our breakfast there. Staff were friendly and helpful. There was lots of choice and it was good.
