Everything was really good, happy with the stay overall. The room was quite small but enough for what I needed for a work trip, and the bed was comfortable. The only qualm I have was the food in the restaurant wasn't quite up to the standard compared to the price being paid. It seemed like they were running low on some stock, service sometimes took quite a while. Otherwise the people were nice and helpful.
Pleasant stay overall! The hotel is clean and stylish with modern décor throughout. Staff were welcoming and helpful, especially at check-in. The room was comfortable with a good-sized bed and decent amenities. The gym and pool were definite highlights. Only drawback was that quite a number of elevators didn't seem to be working. Still, great value and a solid choice if you’re visiting Nottingham.
I don’t usually leave critical reviews but I felt it important to get my experience shared. The room was freezing when I first checked in (it was 30 degrees outside) because the air conditioning was on, and it wouldn’t turn off despite repeatedly trying to turn it off. Eventually an employee came and helped fix it, but at that point the room was so uncomfortably cold and took some time to warm up again. The bed was comfy but my sleep was interrupted every time another guest talked in the corridor or left their room (you can hear absolutely everything) as there seemed to be 0 soundproofing. I bought earplugs to sleep the next night. I ordered food for dinner from the restaurant (I wanted to order room service but there was a £5 fee for ordering to your room so I chose to eat at the restaurant). After being told nearly every vegetarian option on the menu was not available, I settled on a Caesar salad which was the only vegetarian option left available. It took about 30 minutes to arrive despite being one of the only few people in the restaurant. I couldn’t finish the salad because it was so soaked with mayonnaise, it made it really uncomfortable to eat. There was also only lettuce and croutons in the Caesar salad (and tofu which cost extra), not the other items typically found in it except mayonnaise. Overall, I had an unpleasant experience at this hotel which is disappointing considering the price it is offered at. On a positive note, the staff were really nice and helpful.
