Mercure Orléans Centre

Very comfortable room, spacious and well appointed. ♿ Access to the hotel and room was very easy. The hotel is well placed, overlooking the river and in easy walking distance from the city centre along good pavements, via the quai and Royal Arcade (following directions from the very helpful front desk staff). There is also a good restaurant in the hotel. Recommended!

Once you're past the stylish lobby area with restaraunt and pool, things go slightly downhill. Although first impressions were good and the beds were comfy, the rest of the room fittings and decor were a bit tired. On the up side, very efficient check-in, room make-up and great location.

You would never think this is part of the Mercure hotel group... it's extremely dated and looks like it's being held together by sticky tape and glue! Positives are its location, car park, bar, restaurant and staff. Negatives is it looks like a poorly maintained 60s building, bedrooms are straight out of the 90s, shower leaking, hairdryer broken, bed very hard. It's not what I would class as a 4 star hotel...although I can imagine it once was. Time for Mercure to put its hand in its pocket and begin a face lift...
