Mercure Padang

I really appreciated the thoughtful environmental touches at Mercure Hotel — especially the use of glass water bottles instead of plastic. Small details like this make a big difference, especially in a place like Padang where sustainability isn’t always a priority. It was refreshing to see a hotel taking those steps. Comfortable stay and great to see this kind of conscious effort!

Very nice hotel. When you drive to the hotel you feel that it is in a very poor neighborhood. The hotel looks very nice though. It has a swimmingpool in the heart of the hotel. It's only 5 minutes walk to the beach.

We booked 2 rooms for one night, asked for non-smoking, was placed in a smoking floor (3rd floor) without notice when I arrived. They didn't even say anything until everyone in my group arrived at their rooms and complained about the smell. I was able to get one changed to a non smoking room but my other group had to suffer the night in a room smelling of smoke that didn't disappear even after getting "cleaned". Also the shower room doesn't have a curtain so when someone is inside the light bleeds out right onto the bed. Noise from the hall, doors opening etc can be heard from inside your room. Would have 100% chosen another hotel if I knew about being placed in a smoking floor. As for other parts, it's standard and you shouldn't expect anything less for the price.
