Mercure Paignton Hotel

Very nice hotel. A bit pricey, the inside more than makes this distinction. Typical breakfast as with any hotel. Ask at the bar if you require fried eggs or hash browns- made to order. Spacious rooms. The mattress/pillows took a bit of getting used to, but I suppose that's anywhere I go!

I can only comment on the service and location because unfortunately although we booked and paid for hotel they had overbooked and had no room for us 😢 but they redeemed themselves as they moved us to their sister hotel the ibis (next door) they refunded us the difference as it was 60 pounds cheaper than the mercure and gave us free parking.the lady at reception was very helpful,polite, kind and did everything she could to make sure we got a room. Great job!

We stayed one night. The shower room was filthy and the tiles were an orange colour in the grout. Corners of shower not clean. Dust on most things like light and picture and skirting boards. Breakfast was appalling. Plates were cold so luke warm food went cold quickly. You had to ask for eggs and hash browns!! We couldn't put our plates down to open the pots with food in as it was covered in food which should have been wiped away!! Skirting boards throughout were dusty. Very below average cleanliness. The ibis hotel next door had not of these problems last year. I will not stay here again.
