Mercure Paris Gare Montparnasse TGV

This hotel is near the station, restaurants and shops, and is in a very convenient location. The rooms and facilities are old, but they were clean and comfortable. What we look for in a hotel is clean bedding and towels, and toilets and showers that work normally. We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights. We were generally satisfied. The air conditioning could not be adjusted, but it was the right season so it was not a problem.

After staying at Noveltel Paris Les Halles I expected this hotel (with the same 4 star rating on All.com) to be of similar quality but it fell short. Rooms were clean with comfortable bedding and good shower pressure. However they were having a big problem with many rooms not having working air conditioning and we had to switch multiple rooms. We had a very slow draining bathroom sink and tub tiles were outdated and had mildew. Staff communication also seemed to be lacking on various occasions (we would request something but would have to ask again later). Breakfast was ok but not exceptional. I wish there were more diary and gluten free options. Is a great location tho. Easy to get various places by metro or a short walk.

If there is an option to give 0 star for their service and hospitality, I would give a big fat zero. Very rude and unfriendly staff. They don’t treat the customers well and even members are not given the benefits that they should be getting. No is the answer they give to everything- dental kit, keep luggage in their store room, breakfast box (when we want to step out early), cutlery, and list goes on. Please don’t waste your money by staying in this hotel. Not fit to be a 4 star
