Mercure Petriolo Siena Terme Spa Hotel

The hotel and its location are absolutely beautiful — a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature, ideal for a relaxing break. Overall, the stay was enjoyable, but the management left a lot to be desired and added an unexpected layer of frustration. I've stayed in many Mercure hotels across Italy and abroad, and this was the first time I felt that every simple request was met with an automatic "no." There seemed to be no flexibility, no effort to find solutions, and no decision-maker actually present. Every answer had to go “through the manager,” and the manager's answer was always… no. I honestly started to think he must have graduated from a “No University” — major in Refusal, minor in Inflexibility. To be fair, the place is still worth visiting for the setting itself. A few small improvements would help — better air conditioning and more English-speaking staff — but those aren't deal-breakers. The real issue is the management style, which could benefit from a more guest-oriented, open, and flexible approach. A simple conversation goes a long way. Would I recommend the place? For the scenery, yes. For the management? Let’s just say… bring low expectations and a sense of humor.

Impressed by its prime location—perfect for a relaxing getaway. The interior decor has a charming, cozy feel, giving the place a welcoming atmosphere. However, some areas are in need of better maintenance. The outdoor thermal pool, in particular, showed signs of wear and could benefit from more frequent upkeep. While the restaurant serves satisfying meals, the service during dinner and breakfast was a bit slow and occasionally inattentive.

Pro's: * rooms are spacious and nice * hotel was quite calm, even in July. Always seats at the swimming pool * inside spa is in good state and included in the room price Con's: * infrastructure is there but outside areas (walking path, outside swimming pools) are in (very) bad state as not well maintained. * breakfast is very very basic, industrial food, not a lot of diversity and frequently burned (croissants,...) * far from tourist areas, especially with long distance road works Sad as the tool is there but lack of effort and budget 😕
