Mercure Ponta Delgada Azores

The hotel staff was exceptionally helpful and made my stay very pleasant from the very beginning. They responded quickly to all my inquiry emails before my arrival and eventually helped me book transportation (to and from the hotel). I was absolutely delighted and pleasantly surprised by the first welcome gift upon my arrival. The second present (local sardine box) also brought me great joy and perfectly rounded off my start at the hotel. I particularly enjoyed the relaxing time spent in the sauna. The pool area was also wonderful and never too overcrowded.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The service was truly exceptional – every staff member I interacted with was warm, professional, and went out of their way to be helpful. The hotel was also incredibly clean, one of the cleanest I’ve ever stayed in, which made the whole experience even more comfortable. The breakfast, while not offering a huge variety, was absolutely delicious. Special mention goes to the pancakes – they were honestly the best I’ve ever had! This hotel is definitely one of the best I’ve ever stayed at. If I had to make one suggestion, it would be to extend the opening hours of the spa, especially the sauna. After a day out exploring, it was always closed by the time I got back, which was a bit of a shame. Overall, highly recommended, and I would love to come back again!

Stayed here for 7 nights. The location is great in the centre of Ponta Delgada with excellent public transport links if you're not hiring a vehicle. The rooms are clean and spacious with great air conditioning and the third floor has great views over the city. The soundproofing in the rooms could be slightly better as the hotel is over the flight path for the airport, but this is a very minor point and I would definitely return. Would highly recommend this hotel.
