Mercure Rio Boutique Hotel Copacabana

Fantastic place, friendly staff and great service. We were given an incredible suite with a balcony overlooking Copacabana beach. We also had excellent food at their restaurant and excellent service from their English speaking waiter, Tom. Five stars to him for a great service. I highly recommend staying at the Mercure hotel and stay in room 1214 for excellent views.

Discriminated by the employees. The complimentary continental breakfast was decent. My privacy was invaded. It is right across the street from the famous Copa Cabana Beach. The massage therapist has magic hands. The menu was wrong for meals. I got the wrong room. It was suppose to be a beach view with balcony and bigger.

My room was initially booked for 3 weeks for a business trip. Upon check in, I was charged for the entire 3 weeks, but I told them at the time of check in that I may not be staying the full 3 weeks. I was able to conclude my work in 2 weeks and checked out early. They said they would email me the invoice, but they didn't. It took several days of emailing and a phone call. When they did send the invoice it was for the full 3 weeks, they did not adjust it for the shorten stay. That took a few more days to get the adjusted invoice, but that wasn't correct either. They still charged me for an extra night and they have stopped responding to anymore emails. MAKE SURE TO GET YOU HOTEL BILL WHEN CHECKING OUT WHILE YOU ARE IN FRONT OF THE GUEST SERVICE PERSON. The rooms are small and the housekeeping is barely adequate. I think the only thing this hotel has going for it, is it's location with the beach just across the street. I will spend the extra money and stay anywhere else the next time I am in Rio.
