Mercure Saint Omer Centre Gare

We only stayed one night at the Hotel Mercure St Omer but would happily have stayed longer. The room was a good size, clean and with a comfortable double bed. The bathroom was a good size with a separate toilet. The staff were helpful, friendly and always smiling. We did not have dinner at the hotel but enjoyed an excellent breakfast. A wide choice of food beautifully laid out. And for all Brits who like tea for breakfast a (probably) unique choice. From six (I think) tea caddies one selects loose tea, puts a scoop and a bit into a metal tea strainer which fits exactly into the cup provided, add hot water and leave until the desired strength is achieved. A nice touch I thought.

Breakfast was excellent!! 5* Room was very nice, and beds very comfortable There is a fantastic pizza place (and other food) next to the hotel. Great, very reasonably priced food. A very large Carrefour supermarket about a 5 - 10 minute drive away Great location, and very friendly helpful staff I’d stay there again!!

This was our second time staying here on our way to the Alps. It's a perfect stop after taking the ferry/shuttle from England. It's such a lovely, clean, modern hotel. The rooms are perfect for a night's sleep and have everything you need. We really like their approach to water: ask for a bottle and they'll fill and refill for you as needed, complimentary of course. On our second visit, we were early enough to have dinner in the restaurant. We were expecting a pretty average meal and were completely overwhelmed by how fantastic the food was, and just how reasonably priced it was. The wine list was also extensive and we had the most fantastic red from Beaune that just was the icing on the cake. Definitely a place we will always consider whenever we take a road trip through France.
