Mercure Shanghai Xujiahui South

My experience here was mostly positive: - Friendly service - Rooms are clean and stocked with free water - Good breakfast buffet (costs extra) - Close to metro station However, I'm taking a whole star off for the annoyance caused by the rooms' doors chirping/beeping two seconds after opening them, presumably to prevent you from leaving them open by mistake. It's totally unnecessary and triggers 80% of the time just from normal use. God forbid you're actually trying to be quiet. Also, the toilets auto-flush, so they need to be unplugged if you don't want to wake your partner in the middle of the night.

The location is pretty good. It's about a 5-minute walk from the subway station. Because I'm going to Hangzhou the next day, it's not too far from here to Shanghai South Railway Station. There is the ASE Shopping Center nearby, but I didn't have a chance to go shopping. It's a pity that the area isn't very lively, but it can also be explained as it's very quiet. The lobby is not very luxurious, probably three to four stars. The restaurant is also small, but the service is very attentive. In addition to the delivery robot, which can deliver food to the door of the room, there is also a free laundry service, which is great. The room is spacious and comfortable, and the price is not expensive. The CP value is very high. Eating hot pasta for breakfast makes me feel warm.
