Mercure Sunshine Coast Kawana Waters

Stayed here for a weekend away for our wedding anniversary. Quiet and clean and ample parking. Very comfortable and peaceful sleep. Lovely spot on the lake. Rooms didn't have a balcony and our view out the window was a bridge so not amazing. Tea and coffee making facilities, no kitchen. Had a nice walk around the lake and close enough to shops for essentials and/or takeaway. Had to drive to a few nice spots to enjoy the sights.

Vary disappointing stay, lots of issues that add up to a poor experience. The room service stops at 800pm, so if you arrive after this there is no food available, not even a sandwich or a bowl of chips. Being we had no car there was nothing available to get dinner close by. The safe in the room had no batteries so didnt work, we had booked a room for 3 adults but only two sets of towels in the room, we had the wrong tv remote so tv wouldn't operate, the air con would only allow heat not cooling and under the beds hadn't been cleaned ( dirty socks and rubbish under there). Water pressure in shower was atrocious. Great position for the hospital but overall a clear lack of attention to detail meant a frustrating stay with repeated trips to reception.

I have been staying at the Mercure for 3 years, it was a really great place to stay until the last 6-12 months. Previously there was a delicious buffet breakfast and well looked after establishment. Unfortunately in my recent stays the cleanliness is non existent, as pictured. Hair all over the bathroom and floor not cleaned. My last stay, included the previous customers hair and other rubbish left in the bathroom bin, the bath mat not replaced, leaving me with a wet and visibly dirty one to use. This has been a common occurrence and not just a one off. I will unfortunately not be staying here moving forward.
