Mercure Swansea Hotel

This was a great hotel. It was clean, the staff were friendly and very helpful and the breakfast was wonderful and we enjoyed it every morning. There is also a cute outdoor area to sit closer to nature. The snacks from the bar were also delicious. The only small obstacle is that the hotel does not have an elevator however their staff help you carry your luggage up the stairs. the rooms are great, spacious and with plenty of commodities.

One night stay for work. Rooms are very tired and could do with some work. Bed was fine, shower worked ok , got a fair nights sleep. It is a very quiet area which helped. The lake next to the hotel made for a nice walk after dinner. The food was good as was the service in the restaurant. Usual buffet breakfast which was also well done. Will certainly stay again next time I work in the area.

Not just our room, looking at other rooms - similar story at the carpets, absolutely vile stains everywhere. When I informed the desk was given a 20% discount, but there were no other rooms available to switch. There are 2 sockets in the entire room at the desk, none at the bed. No AC, a white standalone fan in a corner that’s not near a socket, no conditioner, any toiletries have to be requested from reception. Strong smell of bleach, room needed to be aired which didn’t resolve the smell. Absolutely avoid for the price paid £100/ night - any other chain is so much better.
