Mercure Tokyo Ginza

The hotel was fantastic. It had all the amenities and facilities that we needed throughout our stay in Tokyo. It was an added bonus to have a major shopping district down the road from the hotel. What made it better was just a 10-15 minute walk and you were at the major Tokyo Station where you could get to any place withing Tokyo and the surrounding areas. The hotel room was nothing but amazing. Yes it was a little small, however, that is noticed in many hotels in Japan. The breakfast was good, however, more options would be nice.

The hotel was okay. Rooms comfortable. TV could have more English/ Australian channels, even though we loved to go out mostly. When there were earthquakes the message was not in English, I had to use an app called Papago to understand the messages on TV. It was a bit worrying at the time. The staff at the Hotel were excellent.

We booked one single room for 3 people, with two single beds and a sofa bed (3 places to sleep = 3 people) Yet at check in the staff required an extra fee for the usage of the sofa bed. The reasoning behind this is way beyond me. For the rest the hotel is well located, clean and tidy. Cleaning personnel was very attentive and helpful. On another note, the hotel lacks of most of the basic services: restaurant (except for breakfast), room service, fitness center, etc.
