As a family we received an interconnected space of three rooms, which were all very clean and comfortable. The hotel has got a small parking free of charge just in front so one needs to be fast enough to get a place, otherwise the paid garage is available. The staff and the hotel manager are very kind and helpful. The breakfast buffet is excellent with high quality food and teas.
The hotel parking can be reached after you check in. They need to give you access codes and explain which parking it is (even though the signs are well placed inside the parking). Everything inside feels outdated: the doors, the hallways. The sink in the bathroom is super low, maybe useful for small people but annoying when you're average sized.
Dear Guest, For your comfort, a second set of bath towels is available in the wardrobe of your room. The entire team at Mercure Tours Centre wishes you a pleasant stay! ⸻ Such thoughtfulness, truly… Apparently, comfort starts with a second set of towels in the closet. Too bad real comfort—genuine comfort—begins with more basic details: properly placed toilet paper rolls instead of bar-style tissues hanging on the wall, showers with ergonomic dimensions, faucets and mixers that don’t leak and are easy to adjust, a bottle of water in the fridge (which hopefully works), light bulbs that actually illuminate, towel racks that exist, beds that don’t feel like burial niches, elevators that function, and underground parking that’s actually usable… not one that forces you to park far from the hotel. And let’s talk about the breakfast area, shall we? A bit of organization to avoid buffet bottlenecks wouldn’t hurt. But yes, sure, the second towel set… especially when placed at a height that even non-NBA players can reach. Priorities are crystal clear. As for the 4 stars of the Mercure… they almost make you regret not choosing the two-star hotel next door, the Ibis Budget: same quality, half the price. At least there, expectations match reality.
