Mercure Villeneuve Loubet Plage

Booked to stay for 5 days but cut short due to food poisoning from rooftop restaurant and construction work outside room. Walls being knocked out for renovation but we were not made aware prior nor offered a different room. Rooftop bar staff mostly arrogant and rude except for Julia who was fabulous. Rooftop bar view was best part of stay. Would not have booked here if I knew about the renovation work.

Absolutely terrible experience. Staff gave us blatantly wrong advice to leave our luggage at “any hotel in Nice”—which turned out to be completely false, costing us time, money, and major stress. Tried calling the hotel for help—phone didn’t work. On top of that, construction noise at 8am made sleeping impossible. Paid for a relaxing sea view stay, got chaos and zero support. Avoid this hotel if you value peace, honesty, or even basic service.

Very poor - as my room was located on the same floor as a huge room renovation and rebuilding project. See my review on the hotel website. The hotel would not consider a relocation of room - telling me that I had been upgraded already as compensation - but still on a building site !
