Merici Hotel Sittard

A beautifully situated building right in the Centre of the city. Well decorated internally, friendly personnel, clear instructions for reaching the place through WhatsApp, very good price to quality ratio. The room was a disappointment as the ceiling was the creaking floor of the room upstairs. Our “over the floor neighbors” woke up at about 6:15 keeping us unable to have a longer sleep till 7:30 that we gave up and got out of bed anyway - the creaking went on until they left. They were just walking, but the old floor was really loud and unpleasant. Service was friendly and apologetic, but still …

Rooms are OK at best. Clean but no shampoo or conditioner. Got refused at the restaurant twice in a row when I went there for 8pm and the kitchen is supposed to be open till 8.30pm. Breakfast is very average. Again, twice in a row I had to ask for the milk to be put out. Scrambled eggs are dry. Could be soo much better than it is. SE153EG hope the feedback does pushes them to try up their game.

Sadly very disappointing. The pictures paint a good picture but in reality it’s super disappointing. Rooms were not thoroughly cleaned. The kettle was extremely dirty as if someone used it for other purposes.Under the bed seems like it’s never been vacuumed in weeks. You see all kinds of marks on the wall that shows it’s never been wiped in months(probably years) The walls are absolutely so thin , you hear every conversation that walks outside your room and every movement from upstairs. So sleep was non existence in that hotel. Breakfast was presented nicely but lack of flavour. Just to get a cup of coffee takes forever as it’s self service, the issue , there isn’t anyone around to assist those that don’t know how to operate the machine(so milk always runs out faster) So you literally waste time waiting in line. In fact there isn’t anyone around to assist in general. On one positive point note the location was great and that’s about it.
