The staff are really friendly and have a very positive attitude towards any issues that arise. We are a family of three and absolutely love the convenient location and the stylish design of this serviced apartment. It’s fully equipped with a kitchen, fridge, cooking utensils, a full dinnerware set, dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer—everything you need, just like home. The indoor spa is also a highlight—perfect for relaxing after a day of activities and great for easing tired muscles.
The Pros: Meriton Suites is situated just outside the heart of Surfers Paradise, which means it avoids much of the area's typical noise, late-night disruption, and rowdy atmosphere. Conveniently, the building is located near the Cypress Avenue light rail stop — just one stop from central Surfers or an easy 10-minute walk. The one-bedroom suite with hinterland views was modern, well-furnished, and impressively spacious. It featured a large smart TV compatible with device streaming, along with a microwave, oven, dishwasher, coffee pod machine, washing machine, and dryer. The bathroom was contemporary and practical, offering both a rainfall and handheld shower head. The open-plan lounge and dining area included a circular table with comfortable fabric chairs, a three-seater lounge, an armchair, and a coffee table — all complemented by floor-to-ceiling windows. The enclosed balcony was generously sized and fitted with adjustable louvres to control airflow or seal the space entirely. Another standout feature was the access-controlled elevators, which help manage guest flow and enhance security — something I always appreciate in a high-rise building of this scale. The Cons: While not uncommon in newer builds, the bathroom and shower drain covers had visible residue that was unpleasant to see. The shower drain in particular seemed partially blocked and drained so slowly that water overflowed onto the bathroom floor. The high fabric bedhead, though visually appealing in concept, showed some questionable stains that could not easily be identified — potentially bodily fluids — which was off-putting. Reception staff were present in good numbers, but check-in/check-out could be frustratingly slow during peak periods. The absence of a clear queuing system led to some guests bypassing the informal line, which created tension and confusion. The complimentary in-room Wi-Fi was underwhelming, delivering speeds of only 32.6 Mbps download and 33.9 Mbps upload, based on three separate tests using the Canstar Internet Speed Test Tool. Overall: Despite a few hygiene and service drawbacks, Meriton Suites offers great value, comfort, and a peaceful location just outside the hustle of central Surfers Paradise. I would recommend the property and would be happy to stay again.
Room had an excellent view of the ocean. It was really spacious, with a separate lounge room and balcony. Amenities were easy to obtain from the front reception. I liked the reserved carpark and it was incredibly cheap for undercover private parking, however, it was a narrow car park and the ramps were very steep. Check in driveway was also very narrow and often got congested due to people parking and uber drivers. Pools and gym were great.
