Very spacious 1 bedroom apartment with bedroom, full bathroom, laundry and work area upstairs and then lounge, kitchen and toilet downstairs. Comfortable space and location is excellent and surprisingly quiet considering location. Only issue is the laundry had very strong mouldy smell, likely due to lack of ventilation. I kept door closed so wasn't a huge issue.
Generally a good apartment. Very clean and great size. Equipment in the rooms is hit and miss. I’m here with several other families and we have joked that if we combined all our apartments we would have one that was fully equipped. It’s just luck of the draw.
While I’ve stayed at Meriton suites numerous times and have always had a positive experience, the staff on this occasion were particularly unhelpful. I arrived around 6pm to check in with my younger brother - because we were in Sydney for his event, he booked the room, which after the fact we realised might be a problem for check in as he is 17. However because I was travelling with him and staying in the room, we assumed we could simply change the name on the booking upon arrival. The staff member insisted we cancel the booking and rebook online. This was not only inconvenient but would have had price implications as he had made the original booking a week ago. When asked why he couldn’t amend the booking on his end, or cancel and rebook he said that “it was too late” for him to do so. I asked what would happen if someone had just walked in off the street to book a room and he said he couldn’t do it then either. He told us to call the reservation line to speak to them about it - we did and she amended the booking - she was helpful. The front desk staff however could use a lesson in problem solving and customer service. Delivering the message with a smile, a can do attitude and a genuine attempt to help would go a long way. Unnecessary hassle, will not be returning.
