Metropol Hotel Katowice

Hotel was great overall, room was very clean and tidy. Perfect for 1 person. But the AC in the room wasn't cooling at all. It was only blowing already hot air. Best thing I could do was to open a window to a balcony

*dog friendly 50pln extra* Let me start by saying for the price this hotel it is what you get. We had a pleasant experience, receptionist was nice, cleaning personal very nice too! Although the rooms feel a little tired and could be revitalised with a refurb they weren’t exactly awful. Super king size mattress was very comfortable however need extra pillows (not located in the room) Bathtub was well received too! Good amount of parking spaces for*FREE* Gym (not visited but nice addition) Little bits, doors to balcony are permanently locked as they’re unstable but it doesn’t stop other guests from climbing through the window out (really not safe) and felt quite on edge with them being there. Ac is also old and doesn’t work efficiently but does a half job Torn curtains, no spoons in room (I understand that’s a cost thing) Little fridge was convenient and a coffee station was also substantial. Bottles of water a nice addition too We didn’t stay for breakfast but from passing by it looked like a good continental buffet. Overall we enjoyed it, very close to centre (10-20mins) convenient with the free parking on site and being dog friendly is always a big plus!

I rarely write reviews, but this time I feel I should leave one here. Let me start by saying that both of our rooms were in very poor condition. I will attach some photos to show what I mean — even torn curtains left me puzzled. I took pictures of all the problematic areas right away to avoid any misunderstandings or claims against me. The soundproofing in the room was extremely poor — we could clearly hear people talking, watching TV, or doing other things in the neighboring room. This was especially disturbing at night, particularly with kids. In addition to the room being dirty, the furniture was also unclean. The chairs had some kind of stains on them, and it was unpleasant to sit on them. The mattresses had yellow stains, which I believe should either be replaced or professionally cleaned. There was also a broken hairdryer — it worked for only about 20 seconds, then seemed to overheat and stop. After waiting five minutes, it would work again for another 20 seconds. If you have short hair, you might manage, but with long hair, I strongly recommend bringing your own. Next time, I will definitely choose another hotel. I’m not blaming anyone, just sharing my honest and objective impression of my stay. I would like to highlight the positive aspects of our stay. The breakfast was very delicious — a great start to the day! The staff were extremely helpful and always willing to assist, which was truly appreciated. Their friendly attitude really made a difference and left a good impression.
