A lovely little hotel in the heart of Old Town Chania. The staff were super helpful and very friendly towards us. We received some great recommendations for things to do and places to see while we were in Chania from the receptionist, and our room was always spotless when we came back at the end of the day. We had a little trouble finding the hotel when we first arrived, but when we did find it a little past midnight the day we arrived, getting our room card was no trouble at all, we simply called the hotel and got a combination for a lockbox outside. The room was a little smaller than we thought it would be, but it turned out to be manageable. Breakfast was served right around the corner from the hotel, at a lovely restaurant called The Red Bicycle, with equally friendly staff. Greek hospitality really is no myth at all!
The entrance is unassuming as it is merely a door between shops. If you are checking in, you'll be given a code to unlock the door if it is locked. Irene, the receptionist, will arrive shortly if she is not already there. She is friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and informative. The room we had was on the small side but fine if you are traveling lightly. The balcony overlooked the street and the view was varied : some construction or unfinished buildings and lovely balconies with plants. The space was comfortable, and modern. The shower is great - both a rain shower and a hand held but the glass surround is not big enough to contain the water. A bit of mopping with extra towels solved the issue. The location is wonderful as it's on a quiet street (shops, not restaurants or bars) in old town and the cafes and restaurants are nearby and plentiful. I would recommend this hotel as the price was right, the hotel was clean and modern, the location was perfect for eating, shopping, museums and the beach, and the staff, Irene and Katerina, were wonderful!
The first thing is, surely be noted of the # of the location #18 since the Google map pin doesn't guide you to the right spot. It takes u further. Very tiny door entry away, so surely u are likely to miss it. Or maybe it's just me being careless. No elevator, but staff is willing to help you with the baggage up to the room at their ability. Love the location and the vibe. Convenience stores, restaurants, shops all around. Cute little balcony. The only thing I don't love about the place is that there seems to be an awkward scent in the room, so the air flows with the window is necessary, or else it smells very bad. Also, the shower is designed so narrow it was tough not to splash water out and make the bathroom wet everywhere. I am not sure why they use so much space for the toilet and sink while you could barely stand at the shower portion... Maybe better rooms have more reasonable designs. In general, it does what it is supposed to do, a comfy, clean accommodation with fine bed.
