If I could give a 10/5 stars, I would. We booked this Airbnb for 2 days for our travel in Safranbolu. The stay in itself is gorgeous - homes built in the ottoman era and maintained beautifully. The best part about the stay was the hospitality. Abdul, the host, helped us plan our itinerary for the two days - since we don't speak Turkish, we had to do all the communication via Google Translate and Abdul gladly spent as long as it took to answer our questions and help plan a thorough itinerary. He also arranged a taxi for us on the second day that took us to places nearby from Safranbolu that couldn't be covered by food. We also had delicious and comforting meals for dinner and breakfast cooked by the hosts. The hosts are extremely warm, welcoming, and helpful. 100/10 recommend this Airbnb for anyone travelling to or visiting Safranbolu - you'll be assured of a great experience and will want to come back again.
I’m really happy with my stay at Meymune Valide Konağı—this place exceeded all my expectations. Keep in mind that Safranbolu is a small town, so I didn’t expect top-tier service or facilities. But this hotel is truly beyond expectations. It’s a beautifully restored Ottoman mansion, originally built in the 1700s and brought back to life in 2018, then opened in 2019. The moment I stepped in, I felt like I was transported back to the Ottoman era—it’s incredibly aesthetic and full of character. My room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and warm. The heater and hot water worked perfectly, and I appreciated that there was a separate heater in the bathroom, since it gets really cold at night and in the early morning. The breakfast was chef’s kiss! They served homemade peach and strawberry jams from their own garden, and the strawberry jam was especially delicious. They also provided an omelette, fries, and other items—I ate everything and felt so satisfied. Since this is a historic Ottoman house, there’s no lift—which is understandable given the age of the building. But in my case, Mr. Abdulkerim kindly helped carry my luggage to the room, which I really appreciated. He was also incredibly helpful in giving me information about the city and tourist spots, even though we only communicated via Google Translate. Truly a kind and thoughtful host. Everyone here was so warm and welcoming. Just a small note: they don’t provide complimentary mineral water, but you can easily buy it at the reception if needed. If you’re visiting Safranbolu and want a unique, cozy, and memorable experience—this is the place. Highly recommended!
The house is a historical ottoman building including the interior. It's beautiful and very comfortable. The owners are very welcoming and kind. They prepared a magnificent and rich breakfast. The hotel cab driver Mustafa gave us a great tour to the nearby sights (canyon, cave, nomad village) for a fair price.
