Mida Resort Kanchanaburi

Room is quite new and restroom is new and clean. Normally we decide where to stay from the restroom! Breakfast is nice and there are lot variety to select! I love pork boiled rice!! Staff are nice and helpful as well.

This is a 4-star resort so let’s start with the drive from the main road to the actual resort, it’s very very very creepy, it hunts me on my sleep. Upon entering the premises, there is a long drive, you will pass by a lot of abandoned houses in the middle of the woods like that of a horror movie. We have not seen a single car passing by so we thought we are at the wrong place and plan to make a u-turn. Halfway through when finally we saw a car and decided to continue driving. They could make improvements by adding more signage or else it’s just creepy. Other than that everything else is good. Room is clean and spacious. Toilet is clean. Beds are clean. Service is good. You might expect more as it is a 4 star. The river romance restaurant is great, view and ambience is amazing but a bit pricey. Food is not bad but it’s not delicious either. Taste wise, the price doesn’t match. Better start hiring a new chefs. Spent more than 600 per head for dinner and ordered 3 dishes only. Free breakfast is okay. Lots of choices. Normal hotel buffet breakfast. We didn’t try the rafting activity, maybe next time. Staying on the tent looks tempting as well. And the Pools look amazing too but didn’t have the time to indulge. Its a solid four star

Overall, the resort is peaceful and manage to do some stargazing. the area is really huge and we really love the ambience. However, a few complains: 1. Room were not like the one on the website. We were assigned to block B which the room are quite old, heater wasn’t even working. Told the staff but the heater was on and off 2. When we first entered the room, there was already a floor mat with dirty stains on our toilet bowl. Didn’t think much about it so just left it on the floor. We don’t usually asked to clean up the room. During the checkout, the staff wanted to charge us 150baht for the dirty floor mat. Told the staff it was already dirty but staff didn’t believe and even wanted to bring the mat to the lobby. Such an effort. The staff argued with us for around 5mins and let us go in the end as we find it unreasonable. Firstly it had the stains already and stains can be washed off. So why charge for something we didn’t even break? This is ridiculous and in fact it’s my first time getting charged for a dirty mat. It wasn’t even torn 3. Overall resort cleanliness wasn’t great. A lot of bees and in the morning our doorstep were filled with dead bees. This resort need to do something on their cleanliness before charging people for making the floor mat dirty.
