This hotel is in walking distance to all the attractions in York - also the railway station. I stayed two nights and the room was very comfortable and nice. The staff was friendly - and there is a relaxed atmosphere. I would also recommend it if your travelling solo. There's a nice lounge at the reception.
What a great find! York has many, many hotels but this one is highly recommended. The location is great, just inside the city walls over the river from Clifford's Tower. You can walk to any part of the city with ease. The rooms are comfortable, spotlessly clean and very quiet. The staff were all lovely: warm, friendly, attentive. The bar is nice with plenty of outside seating too. And, unusually, it has a car park!
We had a very nice afternoon tea here. Staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. The ambience and decor were lovely. We weren't rushed, service was attentive without being intrusive and we felt the staff cared that we enjoyed our visit. A little hidden gem in York .
