DO NOT SKIP THIS HOTEL. Phenomenal service, spacious rooms with a great design, and an unbeatable location. We asked the middle-aged gentleman working the desk late at night for some tea free, and were offered it free of charge at around 2 AM as we came in from the cold. They will go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, all at an unbeatable price.
Excellent location. Two blocks from the museums, two blocks from the main shopping district and close to many pubs and restaurants. Clean and well maintained. My only suggestions: breakfast in the hotel is pricey and the sauna is only open from 4:00pm-10:00pm. Staff was very helpful and the had free champagne on New Year’s Eve and day.
All the staff is neither friendly nor welcoming. The rooms are not cleaned, the bathroom shelves were full of dust, a pity (see. photo). The two of us had to spend 4 days with only a small shampoo and a small tube of shower gel, as well as a single roll of toilet paper. The Kleenex box empties the entire stay, regrettable for 4 stars. The trash cans were not emptied, we had to do that ourselves! No chest of drawers to store things. Old hotel, not very functional, very disappointing. No French news channel on TV. The breakfast was of more than mediocre quality, stale croissants and tasteless little donuts. The coffee on the other hand was excellent. We really regretted having opted for an included breakfast, it would have been better to take it outside. In addition, there were 6 of us and it was still impossible to have breakfast together. For that, the staff made little effort. We will not recommend your establishment because the services do not at all meet the expectations of a 4 star hotel. On the other hand, too much heating, it would have been better to add shampoo and shower gel, to improve the cleaning service and the quality of the breakfast buffet and instead save on heating costs... Conclusion: We were very disappointed and regretted our choice.
