Had a great stay. The staff is friendly and the rooms are spotless. Definitely buy the room rate with breakfast, the bacon is fantastic. The toiletries are communal so bring your own soaps and shampoos unless you want to touch the same things the people before you in the room used. They definitely did not refill or clean them so the people before you scrub their stuff then you do it right after. The bed is old and not the memory foam or high quality most marriotts have. Those are the only two downsides.
Overall, fine stay. Gorgeous hotel in the heart of downtown Minneapolis, friendly staff and nice rooms. However, the M club concierge and breakfast were underwhelming. I was disappointed to see that the club ran out of water bottles for guests at least twice when I tried to find some. Also, the restaurant was understaffed and they appeared to have one bartender and two wait staff on duty while the restaurant was busy. The food was average at best, for the price I expected a bit better, and we waited for about 30 minutes for service before we ordered at the bar. Other than that, my experience was great. Close proximity to target center with tons of restaurants nearby
Mediocre rooms and TERRIBLE customer service. Not worth your money! I stayed here for a company event, they charged my card instead of charging to the company (even though I told the guy at check-in the company was paying for it, he said he still needed my card on file and that it wouldn't be charged) AND they double charged us for parking in the garage - again, the clearly inept employee that checked us in did a crappy job of informing us that we didn't need to pay the garage fee upon leaving since the hotel already charged us upon check out! The rooms were just "okay" - nothing special at all. The AC doesn't work great if you're on one of the upper floors and the shower leaked water everywhere on the bathroom as it wasn't sealed well. Also sort of annoying that the elevators from the garage don't connect to the rooms, so you have to haul your stuff up one elevator get off at lobby floor and then ride up a different elevator to your room. Minor issue, but very inconvenient nonetheless. Stupid design for a hotel. Avoid the "pillowvmisters" that claim to make you fall asleep - they are filled with toxic chemicals. I sprayed one to try it out and coughed all night. I read the ingredients afterwards, which was my mistake, because I listed fragrances on the label (NOT natural essential oils as it claimed) and fragrances can contain many types of toxins. Worst Marriott experience I've ever had.
