Great location, Convenient to downtown and fair grounds. Close to pegleg BBQ, 12th Street vendors. rooms spacious, amazing gym, rooftop pool was gorgeous, Loved how close we could get our car to our room. Parking went all the way up the interior of the building. Made parking very convenient. Additionally available amenities that I didn't take advantage of: Puppy spa, barbeques next to pool area,
One star for four walls, a roof, and general space (not cramped quarters). One star for the pool. Everything else I wish I could forget. Where to start - despite the website stating check-in instructions would be sent 72 hrs in advance, they weren’t. I got a half dozen text messages within a short time from multiple numbers announcing and reminding me to fill out additional paperwork, announcing a change in management during my stay, and alerting me to my unit being ready but no actual instructions on how to get in/which unit. I was on the phone for 45 mins trying to reach someone. The actual “Locale” name on the building was a sign so small you’d blink and miss it so pinning down the appropriate parking garage was a pain. Parking one place to then hike through a labyrinth to the unit to retrieve a parking pass and access fobs only to retrace steps to move said car to the new designated area where you have to register the car for additional parking fees (why this registration wasn’t part of the paperwork needed before arrival I don’t know) was a pain but I could deal. Arriving at the required parking area with signs listing incorrect numbers as the only contact information for registering your vehicle with threat of towing was not so great. The unit itself was a bit of a bait and switch - while the layout and furnishings nominally matched the booking site listing, it was pretty clear that they staged it only to look pretty/clean/updated for pictures. The furniture was flimsy, couch deeply uncomfortable and shallow, the kitchen was oddly supplied - 8 sets of plates (some with stuck on food) but only 3 forks/4 spoons/etc., knives that didn’t really cut, mismatched glasses/coffee mugs. It was like they just stuffed things in drawers/cabinets at random. The window covering actually didn’t do anything to block the sun - it was like being blinded by spot lights every morning at 5 a.m. Cleaning was clearly not being tended to. The floors were foul - literally bottoms of socks/feet black within mins of walking around the space. The shower in one bathroom had black mold/mildew ringing it and the tub in the other bathroom hadn’t seen bleaching in a while. The walls had smudged dirt stains you get from heavy use without cleaning. The carpets in the closets were heavily stained. Just generally dingy. I might have bumped it up one star for location if I were only looking from the entrance to the building but my unit faced the highway and we definitely knew it. Honestly it sounded like we were smack in the middle of the highway it was so loud at all hours. We actually spoke with some of the permanent residents one afternoon asking how they could stand living there long term with the traffic noise. They laughed, guessed which floor we were on (which they guessed correctly), and stated their unit was just fine/never heard a thing. Our floor was the one they put guests in indicating they’d intentionally cut corners on the construction of the floor being used for vacation rentals. Hence the horrible noise disturbance. At one point the door codes/fobs stopped working supposedly because of the management transferring but that seems like a flimsy excuse. Why wouldn’t there have been transition protocols in place to keep that from occurring. I spent another 30 mins on the phone trying to reach someone to reinstate them. And finally - no check-out instructions. Just vague language on the website from check-in that indicated each location was different. I won’t go into the issues the other members of my party had with their units/reservations. My issues were minimal comparatively. Suffice to say - I would not recommend this place and certainly won’t return unless the new management makes some serious changes.
Stay somewhere else! I stayed here in April and arrived to find the door into the apartment building completely smashed and unable to be locked. The building management was unhelpful and assured me the door was in working order, even after I went back the following day to confirm that the door did not work. I’ve attached videos below, but I don’t think a building with such poor customer service deserves your booking.
