Had the absolutely best time . Definitely worth the 5 stars that I gave it. The picnic food was incredible as well as the dinner at the restaurant. Food worth the price and more. We lovers the room we were in, really spacious and comfortable. The outdoor shower was an added plus. The staff were absolutely incredible. Every single one of them from the lady who assisted us at check in Segametsi, to the ladies who helped me set up for the picnic by the pool ( could not get their names) as well as the waitress at the restaurant Vhutshilo. I look forward to going back and spending more time there. Would recommend for anyone looking for a bit of an escape for the weekend and a feeling of nature without having to travel far for it.
Misty Hills – A Rustic African Retreat with Exceptional Service Misty Hills is more than just a getaway—it’s an experience. From the moment you arrive, the exceptional service sets the tone. The staff is accommodating, detail-oriented, and genuinely friendly, making you feel like family rather than just a guest. The property itself is huge, fully embracing its African-themed charm with rich décor, scenic walking paths, a tranquil spa to soak up and indulge in, and a variety of restaurants to explore. Whether you're looking for a family-friendly stay or a romantic escape, Misty Hills caters to both effortlessly. There’s also a pool area to explore and kiddie play areas that make it ideal for families. The rooms are cozy and rustic, though they could benefit from better WiFi and TV services—but honestly, you won’t want to stay indoors. There's so much to see and do, from admiring the museum-worthy art collection to enjoying the natural surroundings. Dining at Carnivore Restaurant was a highlight—not fine dining, but a true African feast. The experience was both exciting and entertaining, serving up a rustic, hearty meal that left a lasting impression. Next time, I’d love to explore the other restaurants on the property. If you're looking for a retreat that blends nature, culture, relaxation, and hospitality, Misty Hills is the perfect escape.
Stayed here in room 703 in December, and it was excellent. On this stay, we were put in room 813. It was terrible. When we arrived, the room was not ready by 2, the TV was not working, air con remote was not working and there were no chairs or benches to sit outside the room. That was fixed. However, the room remained so noisy outside from the sound of all the air-conditioners of the different units, right outside our room. We were not able to sit outside. Then inside was noisy, as there were people in the room above us making a noise till late. The rooms are not properly insulated for sound which makes it most unpleasant. Below is the picture of the air-conditioners outside our room. Hardly a pleasant view, besides the noise.
